Setting Up Your Envaulted Account and Registering Credit Cards

Setting up an Envaulted account and earning cashback rewards is easy. As long as beta invites are still available, you can sign up for an Envaulted account by simply clicking on the register link at the top of the Envaulted home page and following these steps:
Step 1 Provide some basic information about yourself(email address, name, mailing address), and create a password for your Envaulted account.
Step 2 (optional): Register one of your credit cards with your Envaulted account.

What Information to Provide in the Credit Card Registration Process:
When registering your credit card(s), you must provide Envaulted the user id and password that you use to log into the bank website for your credit card. If you do not have a user id and password for your credit card bank, you should contact your bank to set up your online banking account.

You can skip step 2 of the registration process, and register a credit card later. However, by registering a credit card, you get to take advantage of Envaulted cashback rewards. You receive a minimum of 1% cash back and more when you register a credit card and use a registered credit card to make purchases. Take advantage of the offers presented to you in your Envaulted account, and earn up to 20% and more cash back!

How Does Envaulted Monitor My Credit Card Transactions:
Once you register your credit card with Envaulted, we monitor your transactions through a process called Direct Connect (similar to setting up access to Quicken / MS Money). Some banks require that you enable Quicken / MS Money before you can use this service. If you receive an error setting up a credit card account through Envaulted, you should check with your bank and make sure you have the correct log in credentials, and your bank has Quicken / MS Money (a.k.a. Direct Connect) enabled. For more information please see our help page.

Happy Birthday Envaulted!

Today Envaulted was finally born. It’s the beginning of a new paradigm—connecting businesses and consumers in a unique way. For the first time, consumers can get access to customized purchase rewards without giving up their privacy. Reflexively, businesses bypass conventional data aggregation services and tricky tactics designed to harvest people’s personal information by connecting with consumers anonymously through Envaulted.

Businesses want to earn your loyalty. In fact, they’re willing to pay for that loyalty. Businesses lose money on promotions because they don’t have the right information to target the people they want. Would you tell your best friend about a great restaurant you went to last night? Of course! Would you tell your co-worker? Probably. Would you tell other restaurants in the area? No, because there’s no good way to do it – until now. Being Envaulted means you’re giving businesses the ability to find you—but to keep your identity protected, they have to go through us. The only way they can contact you is through Envaulted’s weekly email, or on your personal Envaulted account page. In return, we pay you a minimum of 1% for everything you buy, everywhere. Even better, you can earn greater rewards for taking advantage of offers businesses send through Envaulted. If a competitive restaurant wants your business, they might offer you 20% cash back to try their food. How great is that?

Help us celebrate Envaulted’s birthday, and get Envaulted today!

Envaulted Uses Direct Connect to Collect Credit Card Transactions

During the beta phase of Envaulted, only issuing banks who support the “Direct Connect” peer-to-peer file sharing protocol will work for the rewards program. Many banks support Direct Connect, such as American Express and Chase. If you have a Chase card, however, you may have to go to Chase’s website and enable Direct Connect on your account. Directions for enabling this service are located on our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Many banks don’t support Direct Connect, like Capital One. Capital One credit cards can’t be used yet with Envaulted. Eventually we’ll support banks like Capital One once we have a chance to further build the required infrastructure. Some banks charge a fee to enable Direct Connect (e.g., Bank of America). Check with your bank to see if they support Direct Connect and if there are any associated fees for using the service.

Debit cards and “checkcards” are also not supported in our beta test phase. These cards do not typically allow Direct Connect access, either.

Over the coming months, we will constantly add new banks to our system. Please check back from time to time to see if your issuing bank is supported. It helps us if you let us know what bank you would like to see supported by emailing support@envaulted.com. If enough people request the same bank, we will prioritize adding the requested bank.

Why Was Envaulted Started?

Advertising is a $260 billion business in the U.S. That means companies spend over $1,000 per adult per year to tell you about their products. Certain consumer segments are more valuable than others, so some of you could be targeted with more than $5,000 of advertising dollars per year. What if we could make advertising more productive, reduce wasteful advertisements, make it more efficient, and send you the profits? You win. Efficient advertising=reduced costs for companies=lower prices. You win again. That’s what we’re here for, and that’s what we intend to do.

Your information is gathered all the time, most of the time as a trick. Sign up for this sweepstakes, or agree to these privacy terms. Pieces of your information are scattered all over the world. What companies don’t have is your purchase data. They typically infer it through generalizing you through market segmentation. What if they knew exactly what you were buying? Not your market segment, but YOU, specifically. Answer: they’d pay a fortune for it. Not only for your information, but, more importantly, access to you.

Envaulted’s mission is to learn your purchasing habits and provide a mechanism to pass its value back to you. Once you have a chance to monetize your data, two things will happen: 1) Companies will pay you for your loyalty and attention, and 2) Companies will have the option to eliminate wasteful promotions elsewhere, targeting only those who stand a good chance to shop at their stores.

That’s what we’re doing. We’re giving companies the ability to reach you without telling them who you are. All they need is the data and a way to reach you. What you’re doing by registering with Envaulted is giving companies the ability to reach you, anonymously, for the first time ever, and they have a chance to talk to you via Envaulted’s reward mechanism. Getting this specific is revolutionary, and companies won’t have to go after thousands of people just to find a few that shop at their competitors. We’re keeping your name and address a secret so companies have to go through us to get to you. In return for your loyalty to us, we’re passing the cash back rewards on to you.
